Prayer Requests

In my career I have realized that there is a dire need in the world for prayer, and specifically prayers for sick children, victims of senseless crimes and our loved ones. We get so caught up in our busy lives that we forget to care for others, specifically when it comes to their spiritual needs. God teaches us in the Bible that we should pray for each other. Somehow these simple truths became buried in our modern lifestyle.

I have therefore dedicated my time to collecting prayer requests that I post on this website. Please join us in prayer for these special people and their unique challenges in life.

Please email any prayer requests to me if you would like all our readers and the general community to pray for you, a friend or a loved one. Also, please mention in your email from what city or part of the world you are from.

Prayer for the find new employment  in 2010  have endure a toxic abusive  job environment  have become depress over this continuous hurtful employment and would like to leave to a place where I am appreciate and reward for my work and not put down this  job affects my interactions in life and I am angry to stay here

Victims of Violent and Hate Crime in South Africa

We often hear about violence in other parts of the world, but the true extent of the devastation is only known by those who live in those parts of the world, the people of those countries. We live in peace here in Australia and we can go to bed at night, tuck our children in without worrying about our own safety and the safety of our families.

Mainstream news often cover north African violence, for example the CNN had an article "U.N. human rights chief condemns vicious killings" about the murders of Somali victims of crime of 7 October 2008. Unfortunately other violent crime in Africa, like in Southern Africa seldom get the same international coverage. 

In South Africa thousands of people have died violent deaths over the last few years and most people and the media view it as "normal" crime problems. The problem however is that these crimes are extremely violent and some can be classified as hate crimes. Women, children and the elderly of all ethnic groups are suffering. Extreme violence is a sign that a society is in crises - a social, moral and spiritual crises.

Victims tell of rape, murder and ethnic cleansing

As time goes by I have been putting a list of victims together who have died violent deaths in South Africa. Once you read this list [In Memoriam], you will be shocked to the core (still under construction). There are so many and I am sure there are hundreds I don't have, but I am doing my best to keep going. With this effort I hope to raise awareness of this issue, but more importantly we need to pray for this troubled country that peace may be restored so that people can sleep safely in their beds at night.

Please help me to pray for the families for the people who have died senselessly in South Africa and for those women and children of all ethnic groups who are raped on a daily basis.

10 October 2008 - Riana Henning, South Africa

Riana was just shot outside her home in an armed home invasion. She has 2 babies. Please pray for Riana that she may survive this ordeal and live to see her babies grow up.

10 October 2008: Riana Henning, South Africa - with Jesus

I write this update with great sadness in my heart. Riana passed away shortly after she arrived at hospital.

She had a gunshot wound to the head and the doctors were unable to save her.

She died bravely whilst by trying to save her children from danger. She tried to get away from armed robbers in her car with her two babies sitting in their car seats. The robbers came after her and shot her through the passenger window at point blank range. Fortunately the babies were spared.

Our prayers are with Abri, her husband, and their two babies.
